LATENT SPACE is an electronic music project exploring the intersection of emotions and immersive sound design. Heavy on Mind is the latest chapter in the project’s journey — a fast paced, textured electronic track evoking themes of emotional imbalance, memory, and unspoken connection.

Born from collaborative sessions at Ableton Liveschool in Sydney, Heavy On Mind marks the second offical collaboration from LATENT SPACE and Tayla. The track layers cinematic synths and textured percussion with Tayla’s vulnerable vocal delivery. Heavy on Mind explores the space between clarity and confusion, presence and absence.

Driven by driving percussion and layered with sweeping synth textures, Heavy on Mind moves with pace and weight. Tayla’s dynamic vocal performance anchors the track, delivering lines that lie between longing and vulnerability. The production transforms between restraint and release, capturing the dissonance of wanting connection but feeling distant.

LATENT SPACE gained notable recognition by winning the 2023 Kx5 remix competition hosted by Mau5trap, deadmau5, and Kaskade. The project builds on a background in commercial EDM, with over six million streams under a previous alias, and continues to push boundaries in electronic music, blending cinematic production with intimate storytelling.
